A filmi rag, Stardust, made the mistake of publishing a story about this morphed photograph in 1997. What you had in the aftermath was a Tom Wolfe satire. In our desi version of Bonfire of the Vanities, you had police complaints filed against Stardust, lawsuits slapped against the internet site. But what was truly absurd was the morchas of right-wingers forming a human chain outside Pooja Bhatt’s home, holding her responsible. All this even though the article had clearly stated that the photograph was morphed, that the actress had been a victim of malicious slander! The protesters had not read the article, only responded to the image carried with it. Later, an ‘NGO’ conceded that it had sent a morcha to Pooja Bhatt’s home because she had earlier refused to do a campaign for them. So much for the morality.

AGENT VINOD: The graphic novel's First Look out!

With hardly over a week left for the release of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor's action-thriller AGENT VINOD, the makers have now come up with a graphic novel of the film. After Shahrukh Khan coming up with graphic novels for his 2011's two releases RA.ONE and DON 2, it's now Saif who got one for his much touted flick. Asin lost 10 kilos for her movie 'Housefull 2'

Southern beauty Asin is all set to play the lead role in Sajid Nadiadwala's Housefull 2, which Sajid Khan is directing and stars Akshay Kumar in lead role. Asin who has been busy shooting for Sajid Khan’s next directorial venture "Housefull 2" was at her usual best while shooting for the film’s first schedule. But after few months when the second schedule was commenced everyone’s jaws dropped to see Asin in a slimmer and sexier avatar.

 It seems that the trend of getting into a perfect shape and figure has also hit South Indian beauty Asin who recently lost apparently 10 kilos without any demand from her filmmakers.

 The filmmaker of ‘Housefull 2’ Sajid Khan is apparently very happy with Asin’s new-found slender figure. But the makeover came at a cost to the production house. Sources say Asin lost a lot of weight around the wrapping of first schedule of ‘Housefull 2’ in London and the second leg of the shoot that kicked off after a break saw Asin in a new completely new ‘avatar’ and so her outfits were instantly sent for alterations and size change.

 A source reportedly revealed to the media, “Indian dresses such as the ghagra-choli were altered to fit Asin. But they had to replace the dresses with the same designs in smaller sizes from costume designer Aki Narula because the old ones were too big for her and couldn’t be altered,” adding that the development costed the production house Rs 2.5 lakh extra.

 While Asin is basking in the compliments she has been getting of late and crediting her svelte shape to persistent work-outs, we are wondering what happened to the sultry actress’ earlier comment to a reporter: “I believe in performance, not size zero!”

 As per sources, Shahrukh Khan has quite remote connection with the freshly hired chief of ISI – Lt Gen Zahir-ul-Islam. Pakistan's new ISI chief, Lt Gen Zahir-ul-Islam, is the nephew of Indian National Army hero Shah Nawaz Khan and through him, shares a tenuous link with Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan.

 Islam's father served as a brigadier in the Pakistan Army and Shah Nawaz Khan, who was a major general in the INA led by Subhas Chandra Bose, was his uncle, leading Pakistani defence analyst Ikram Sehgal said.

 "One son of Shah Nawaz Khan went with him at the time of Partition, while another, Mahmood Nawaz, stayed on in Pakistan and became a full colonel. In fact, Mahmood Nawaz went and met his father only after retirement as he could not travel to India while he was in service," Sehgal said, providing details of the new ISI chief's extended family.

 Shahrukh Khan's late mother Lateef Fatima was the adopted daughter of Shah Nawaz Khan, according to the Bollywood star's biography on several websites.

Mahesh Bhatt preferred ‘Kalyug 2′ title than ‘Blood Money’

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has revealed that he wanted his upcoming production “Blood Money” to be titled “Kalyug 2″ but couldn’t do so due to stiff opposition from his associates.

“I wanted to call this film ‘Kalyug 2′ but it was Kunal Khemu and Vishal Mahadkar who opposed me hammer-and-tongs saying we won’t have you do this to our product. You have ‘Raaz 3′, ‘Jism 3′ , ‘Murder 3′, ‘Ashiqui 2′, so we want an original title for this,” the 63-year-old said here in an interview.

“The film remotely resembles the structure of ‘Kalyug’, which had an individual lock horns with the porn industry and this has a young man locking horns with the diamond mafia,” he added.

“Blood Money” talks about a small-town boy who enters the diamond export business and is slowly sucked into the underworld. The film also stars Amrita Puri of “Aisha” fame.

Bhatt also revealed the reason behind shooting the movie Cape Town when originally they wanted to can it in Antwerp, Belgium.

“This picture was going to be shot in Antwerp in Belgium. But people there of Indian origin who, I think, hailed from Gujarat, took exception to this particular story because they thought they would be shown in bad light. They thought the villain is loosely based on Bharat Shah, which is not true. They, in fact, ganged up against us and stopped us from shooting there. That’s why we had to shoot in Cape Town,” said Bhatt. (IANS)
